In the past week, I've had several people ask me "How much does a monument cost?" While the cost of a monument is an important consideration, purchasing a monument isn't as simple as buying a gallon of gasoline or dozen eggs. Why not? Jordan Valley Monuments designs your monument with you to make sure that it is 100% personal and we guarantee it to meet your expectations.
To know how much a monument is going to cost, we need to answer six questions.
What shape do you want?
When I am asked how much a monument costs, the shape is the first question that comes to mind. The price difference between a flat rectangle is significantly different from a standing tablet or three-dimensional shapes, like a cross.
What size are you looking for?
A larger flat rectangle is going to cost more than a small one. When considering the monument's size, it is important to know what information is going to be included. For example, a veteran who wants to have their bronze plaque attached to their monument needs a monument of a specific size.
What color of granite or kind of stone do you want?
While it may seem a small thing, the choice of stone or color may mean a price difference of several hundred, or even, several thousand dollars!
What kind of artwork do you want on the monument?
Laser engraving is very popular, but it does influence the price of a monument. Do you prefer three dimensional engraving or flat engraving? How many sides of the monument would you like to have engraving on? The style of letter you choose is a consideration here as well.
What finishes would you like?
Some people prefer rough rock, others like polished surfaces, and others prefer a smooth, yet unpolished surfaces. Those finishes and how they are combined play a role in determining the cost of a monument.
Do you want any special features?
Color photos, colored laser engraving, bronze attachments, vases, sculptures are a great way to personalize your monument and make it more meaningful, but they are also additional costs.
