The Great War. One small, northern Michigan town. Thirty-one names. Two photos of one lost monument. One group of curious high school students.

Finding Clyde Bailey proved to be a challenge, until we discovered that, in life, he had been more commonly known by his middle name. Discovering his first name was Emery gave us the information necessary to begin learning more about him.

When he was about 11, Clyde's family moved from Ohio to Alba. It seems he lived in Antrim County the rest of his life.

During The Great War, he was out of country for 13 months, but military records we have found so far suggest that he did not see combat.

There remains a lot to learn Clyde and his military service. Our search for photos of Clyde continues.
